About Me

My name is William, I was born on 20th May 2002 and I have cerebral-palsy. Not a lot of people know what cerebral palsy is, bur basically when I was born I got my umbilical cord stuck around my neck and couldn’t breathe for 15 minutes. As a result, my brain was starved of oxygen and I now struggle to control my arms and legs and the rest of my body. Thankfully my mind was not affected and I still know how to have fun.

My favourite pastime is anything to do with cars – I love looking at engines and asking how they work. I enjoy playtime with toy cars on the floor and I love Top Gear. I also enjoy being out in my local town, Bishop’s Stortford and trips to London, Hamleys and going on the London Eye.

I enjoy going to school and learning with my friends. I find it very difficult to speak and so I am learning to communicate with a computer that can read my eye movements, it is called an ‘eye gaze’ and it is really helping me to communicate more easily with my teachers and friends.
